Iridium currently only supports in-country emergency call routing to 911 within the United States and to Triple Zero (000) or 112 within mainland Australia. Outside of the United States and mainland Australia, calls to emergency access numbers such as 911 or 999, are not able to be made on the Iridium system. When placing a call to an emergency operator or local public safety answering point, always verbally report your location to assist fi rst responders with indentifying your location to provide assistance. Caller location identifi cation is not automatically transmitted on the Iridium system.

Iridium does not guarantee network availability at all times due to situations where the network is unavailable due to satellite availability, terrain, weather, or other conditions that may prevent an emergency call from being placed.

Verbally report the situation and your location to the operator for assistance. The Iridium service does not provide enhanced 911 service which automatically identifi es the caller location.

EMERGENCY CALLS IN ALL OTHER LOCATIONS: You will need to obtain and dial the full international access code, country code, and phone number for the local fire, police, or ambulance depending upon the nature of the emergency. Power on the 9555 Satellite Phone, extend the antenna toward the open sky, confi rm proper registration & signal strength on the display, dial the local emergency number obtained from your service provider or local advisor and press the green send key. Verbally report the situation and your location to the operator for assistance. The Iridium service does not provide enhanced emergency calling service which automatically identifies the caller location.

which antenna is best for an indoor satellite phone. We are a backcountry lodge that uses our sat phone for incoming and outgoing calls. We need the phone to be inside and on to receive calls.

Satellite phones require line of sight to the satellite to connect. They do not have enough transmit power to go through walls etc.

We suggest a Docking Station with an RJ11 port, this enables you to connect a cordless phone to the docking station and roam freely indoors.

This type of installation requires an antenna mounted at the highest point possible on the roof. We would need to know what length cable to provide as well, the proper size is needed to ensure signal propagation, this is a vital aspect of the install.
